Amy Winehouse Kicks The Habit? - Is Josh Bowman’s Love Her New Drug Of Choice? Posted: 12 Jan 2009 02:01 PM PST What’s the first thing that springs to your mind when you think about Amy Winehouse? Drugs probably, then Blake Fielder-Civil, and then possibly music? But it seems all three of those things have now gone out of her life and been replaced by just one: love. Love can conquer all, this is true, but I’m dubious as to whether it can make someone well known to be hooked on drink and drugs to give turn their back on substance abuse. But that is exactly what Amy Winehouse is claiming. In a new interview with the News Of The World, Winehouse claims to have turned her back on drugs. The newspaper claims to have had exclusive contact with Winehouse while she’s on holiday in St. Lucia. She is pictured above with a News Of The World reporter. Winehouse kicked Fielder-Civil to the kerb as soon as he was released from jail. But she didn’t stay single for long, meeting the supposed new love of her life, at least since the last one, Josh Bowman on the Caribbean island. The biggest revelation to come out of the chat is that Winehouse is now off drugs completely, or so she says. Winehouse claims to not need drugs any more due to love consuming her. But there are some other doozies to emerge. Winehouse talks about sex with husband Fielder-Civil, and how she felt dead every time she slept with him. That’s funny, because they seemed perfect for each other all the while they were together. She also admits that she could have died if she hadn’t stopped taking drugs. Which is perfectly true and what absolutely everyone has been telling her for months. Why it’s taken this long for her to realize is anyone’s guess. Unfortunately, while all of this sounds really positive, the fact is that she’s on holiday, away from her usual haunts and those temptations which must follow her around every day. No-one, least of all Winehouse herself, can predict what will happen when she finally heads back to London. I wish Winehouse all the best, as always, and really hope this is the turning point she needed to reach before it was too late. At least then, we’ll get to hear another album from someone who, on her day, is an undeniably great singer. She certainly looks healthier than she has for a couple of years, regaining her curvier frame which looks a lot better than the skinny runt we’re used to seeing her as. I really hope this change is permanent but I have my doubts.
