Paula Abdul Planning a Daytime Talk Show? Posted: 07 Jan 2009 09:09 AM PST GRAIN OF SALT ALERT – The National Enquirer is reporting that American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, is working on launching her own daytime talk show.  She's alleged to have been meeting with CBS/Paramount to develop the program that could be on the air by next year. What would the show be about?  "Paula envisions the new show focusing on issues that affect average people — plus an occasional celebrity guest." Hmmm… do you think this is true?  If you think it is, do you think this is a good idea?  I think it would be career suicide.  I kind of like Paula but she is very unpredictable and tends to end up in either bad or questionable situations.  I can't imagine what celebrity would agree to be on her show and I would worry that someone would come on there and try to embarrass her.  Have you ever watched the Bonnie Hunt Show?  She's tough and pretty together but she had her friend, Robin Williams, on and she couldn't control him.  If Paula had a show, it could all end up a little bit like that, I think. image: Newscom Tags: daytime talk show, paula abdul talk show, talk show Share This

American Idol Season 2: Top 10 Posted: 07 Jan 2009 08:59 AM PST This is our second day in our week-long countdown to the start of American Idol season 8!!!  So, what do you remember about the second season of your favorite singing competition? It was the season of Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken.  Even back during the competition, I just could not decide.  I loved them both so much for two entirely different reasons.  Ruben had a smooth style and teddy bear-like quality that made him so lovable during performances like "Music of My Heart" but then Clay brought so much skill and growth to songs like "Bridge Over Troubled Water."  I couldn't wait to find out who won and then the day of the final performances, I went into labor.  It was high-risk so I was in a special unit with no television for days.  Naturally, having just had a preemie, I wasn't even thinking about Idol so, I ended up finding out by chance when some nurses were chatting in my room.  What an experience!
