Kara DioGuardi Talks About Joining American Idol on Today Show

American Idol's newest judge, Kara DioGuardi, was on the Today show this morning where she talked to host, Matt Lauer, about what it's been like to join the cast of the world's most popular television talent show. I have to admit that, the more I see her, the more I like her. She seems very self-assured and honest, and I have to respect that. She did also say that she's a little nervous (especially about the upcoming live shows) but she seems up to the challenge to me!

American Idol Season 5 – Top 12

The fifth season of American Idol produced one of the biggest shocks I'd ever felt watching the show.

When Chris Daughtry was up against Katharine McPhee for elimination, I was sure it was Kat's time to go. Even she looked shocked and horrified. Chris was a fan-favorite and has gone on to enjoy HUGE success as the frontman for Daughtry so I still just don't understand how he got eliminated.

Taylor Hicks went on to win with Katharine McPhee as his runner-up. I personally adored Elliott Yamin and was disappointed he didn't win or come in second place. I also have to admit that I really liked Kevin Covais, especially his performance of "Starry, Starry Night." Of course, this is also the season that brought you Kellie Pickler.

Idol Winner Fantasia Will Not Lose Her Home

Fantasia Barrino can breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate since it looks like her home will not be auctioned. A lawyer for a lending company claims the matter over her million-dollar home has been resolved after the two parties came to an agreement.

Apparently, the lender had helped the American Idol winner pay off her taxes back in 2006 but she had failed to repay the money they had loaned her.

Wow… tough times. I don't know all the details but I am happy that this matter could be resolved without having to auction off the home. If nothing else, it's embarrassing to have something like this happen publicly, regardless of the reasons.

American Idol Season 4 - Top 12

I took the weekend off from blogging so I need to do two seasons today to catch up in time for tomorrow night's American Idol season 8 premiere. Are you excited?

The fourth season of Idol ended with a showdown between Carrie Underwood (winner) and Bo Bice (runner-up). It was a relatively good season, if you ask me, and I genuinely was unsure who would win. I really adored Anthony Federov and was so upset when he was eliminated and I had an inexplicable fondness for Constantine Maroulis.

Kelly Clarkson Poses With Fans in London

American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, was in London yesterday for an appearance on BBC Radio 1 where she promoted her upcoming album "All I Ever Wanted" which is set to hit stores on March 17, 2009. The first single will be "My Life Would Suck Without You."

It's great to see Kelly smiling and enjoying her fans again. She had a tough time last year so I'm hoping 2009 will be a great, fresh start for her. Is the color of her coat and her album cover a sign that she's looking on the "bright" side? Sorry, couldn't help myself!
