| Jennifer Hudson To Perform at Super Bowl Posted: 14 Jan 2009 12:00 AM PST
I try not to ever miss a Super Bowl so I will be tuning in next month when Jennifer Hudson takes the stage at Super Bowl XLIII. She is set to sing the national anthem at the biggest football game of the year in Tampa, Florida on February 1, 2009. The former American Idol finalist hasn't made any public appearances since the tragic deaths of her mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew, Julian King. I'm sure this is a very emotional time and I can't (and don't want to) imagine what it must be like to have to pick up the pieces and move on after something like that. | American Idol: Ryan Gets Kissed, Kara Fits In Posted: 13 Jan 2009 10:09 PM PST Did you watch the season premiere of American Idol? What did you think? Well, it was a night of firsts. For starters, Kara DioGuardi was on the judges’ panel and, while there were some ridiculous moments (like her feeling the need to vocally compete with 20-year-old Katrina Darrell of Chino Hills, CA), I think Coincidentally, the other notable moment also comes from Katrina’s audition. The model/clothing designer decided that wearing a bikini would help her be different and memorable (uh huh) and, before going in to audition, she told Ryan Seacrest that, if she made it through to the next round, she would make out with him. He told her that he thought that was against the rules but she didn’t seem to care. After getting the reaction she was hoping for from the two male judges, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, she was given a gold ticket and came out in search of Ryan. | American Idol Season 8: Phoenix Auditions Posted: 13 Jan 2009 04:58 PM PST Tonight, the eighth season of American Idol begins tonight with auditions in Phoenix, Arizona. We’re going to get to see how the whole Wild Card process works and, of course, what it’s like having Kara DioGuardi on the judges panel!
Here are some of the audition photos that Fox has already made available. I will update this post as/after I watch the first episode. I’d love to hear your thoughts so please leave me some comments!!!

| American Idol Season 7: Top 12 Posted: 13 Jan 2009 10:53 AM PST This is it! The last look back at a previous season of American Idol before the new one begins!!! Are you ready? Are you excited?
The seventh season ended with the battle of the Davids as young David Archuleta went up against the more experienced David Cook. It really was a hard-fought battle with Archie delivering some incredible vocal performances while Cookie dished out riskier ones. In the end, Cook's gambling paid off and he was crowned the winner. Here's a look at the Top 12. Did the right person win? (dates indicate when the contestant was eliminated in 2008).

| David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell Break Up Posted: 13 Jan 2009 10:43 AM PST
David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell are said to have broken up just before the holidays, according to her rep. The American Idol season seven winner and the season two finalist had been dating since last year's Idol finale. Despite trying hard to remain private, the pair had been spotted at a Dodgers game and Kimberly had joined David on the set of his video shoot for his single "Light On." | Kara DioGuardi Leaving Regis and Kelly: Pics Posted: 13 Jan 2009 09:20 AM PST American Idol's newest judge, Kara DioGuardi, was spotted leaving the set of Live with Regis and Kelly in New York City. She's quite fit, isn't she? I wasn't sure what I thought of her before but I'm really starting to warm up to the idea of her being the fourth judge. I think she's going to bring something fresh to the show which, I hope, saves it from the doldrums. Click on the images below to enlarge.

| American Idol Season 6: Top 12 Posted: 13 Jan 2009 09:08 AM PST The sixth season of American Idol brought us a fantastic Top 12. It also brought me to this site. I started blogging on Idol Stalker right around the time the Top 12 was announced that year so, it always brings back fond memories.
What do you remember about that year? Was it Jordin Sparks' winning moment? Blake Lewis' killer performance of "Shot Through the Heart (You Give Love a Bad Name)"? Sanjaya's ponyhawk?
