Moon The Loon…Blew It Up Like A Typhoon

Posted: 23 Jan 2009 04:13 AM PST

This is a guest post (in blue font) from a fellow Rock N’ Roll lover. Mohib is a 19 year old from Pakistan, he seems to know more about Rock history than most American or Englishmen do, who grew up in or near the era. He also writes for Mindcafe.org, so swing by and check his site out sometime.

Keith Moon, being one the greatest rock drummers ever, was known for his eccentric behavior and destructive lifestyle. Pete Townshend, the band's lead guitarist, says Moon’s reputation for erratic behavior was something he cultivated. According to him, once they were on the way to the airport and Moon told the driver to return to the hotel asserting, “I forgot something. We’ve got to go back!” When the limo was brought back, Moon broke into the room, grabbed the Television set while it was still connected and tossed it out the window into the swimming pool. When he was done with his service, he then jumped back into the limo, sighing “I nearly forgot.” :D

In this "smashing" video, the infamous incident is shown where Moon added three times the amount of explosives without letting the other Whos know. It has been rumored that Pete even lost 90 percent of his hearing in his right ear. In addition, the force of the explosion blew Pete's hair to one side.

R.I.P. Keith Moon! I hope you aren't doing this in heaven :)

Thanks, Mohib. We’ll know if he is when a television set comes flying our of the sky and lands in out swimming pool.

Who’s Shoes? The Who’s Shoes By Converse

Posted: 22 Jan 2009 07:31 AM PST

Next in line for Converse’s 100th anniversary line of Rock N’ Roll classic Converse All Stars is the legendary British band, The Who. Also up this year is All Stars in tribute to Ozzy Osbourne in February and Pink Floyd in March.

Garnishing the British colors, you can choose from three different selections.

thewho_flag1 With the classic white soul, a white tongue and the Union Jack wrapped around the canvas body, this pair is surely to be a popular and classic hit. A great representation of The Who’s motherland and their English pride. It’s not just a painted graphic on the should either, it’s sewn in to the canvas.

You can find the Union Jack line at Journeys.com and Journey’s stores.

Is the Union Jack a little too much for you? Dig the band but don’t care for the idea of wearing the another countries flag, even on your foot? Choose from the more conservative lines. This pair has a little less Union Jack, only showing it in a profile of Peter Townshend with a white soul and black upper canvas and The Who logo on the tongue.

Go white-wall with this simplistic design. You have the white would with red and blue lines with a white canvas upper with The Who’s Bull’s Eye logo on the outer right ankle.

You can find the black and white lines online at Converse.com.

Scott Weiland For English Laundry Clothing Line

Posted: 22 Jan 2009 06:52 AM PST

prnphotos078284-ROCK-ROLL-RELIGION- Scott Weiland’s sobriety, for once is not the issue of the news. This time the former Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots front-man has teamed with designer Christopher Wicks to start a men’s clothing line.

Christopher Wicks, who owns and designs for his company, English Laundry said, “I have the utmost respect for Scott Weiland, both as an artist and as a designer, he is truly one of the last great rock stars, and his impact on style and music is undeniable. I am proud to be joining forces with him for this collaboration.”

Look for the Weiland For English Laundry line in department stores in February, with prices ranging from $40 to $120. I’m not a Weiland fan, but I hope he’s got his addictions under control.
