Historic London Recording Studio On Verge Of Closing Posted: 30 Jan 2009 01:04 PM PST London’s famed Olympic Studios has had some financial problems as of late and it was reported not too long ago that there was a possibility that it would be shutting down operations. Although the studio is owned by EMI, they say it is not profitable due to advances in home recording equipment. U2 spent quite a bit of time recording their upcoming album, No Line On The Horizon. The Sun (Which is not a very reliable news source) reported that U2 band members are throwing some numbers around and may be entertaining the idea of buying the studio. Olympic Studios has played host to various artists during recording sessions to include, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, INXS, Bad Company, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who and various other legendary artists in Rock.
