Bow Wow Teams Up With Stephon Marbury For New Clothing Line

Posted: 22 Jan 2009 03:27 PM CST

Bow Wow

Rapper Bow Wow has signed with basketball star Stephon Marbury's Starbury apparel brand to help design his own line of clothing.

The decision is a result of Bow Wow's pursuit of an affordable clothing alternative.

Bow Wow is the first entertainer to join forces with the Starbury team. Starbury wanted to partner with Bow Wow in part because of the efforts that he has made to give back to the community throughout his career. On why he embraces the Starbury philosophy, Bow Wow says, "I think families should have a real choice. I want my fans to be able to wear nice shoes and clothing and to also have money in the bank. The smart consumer can have both." (Press Release)

He will begin crafting a variety of items for an official launch later this year.

Bow Wow, who'll be releasing his seventh album New Jack City Pt. II in March, recently negotiated a deal with the trailblazing brand to design a new line featuring clothes, shoes and sneakers for men, women, boys and girls. The collection, which will be both affordable and in line with the latest fashion trends, will be available for sale beginning in November 2009. Consumers will be able to purchase the merchandise at www.starbury.com, www.princebow.com and www.amazon.com. (Pop Culture Madness)

The rapper-turned-actor previously released his own clothing line in 2003.

Just in time for the back-to-school shoppers, Bow Wow's new Shago clothing line hits stores this week. The apparel is influenced by other rappers' menswear lines, such as P. Diddy's Sean John, but is designed for boys and features sizes ranging from 2 to 20, according to Bow Wow's spokesperson. Shago, which takes its moniker from letters in Bow Wow's real name, Shad Gregory Moss, includes three collections: Classic, Knight and Racing.

Jay Z Interview, No Set Date For Blueprint 3

Jay-Z

Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z has addressed the current status of his highly anticipated album The Blueprint 3 by debunking rumors of a set release date.

After speculation about the album's release, Jay-Z has weighed in on the project's rumored release date.

"For me, the process of making an album is difficult with so many things going on," he said in an interview. "And me, I wanna make it beyond and above. I'm gonna take my time with it. I don't have any quotas, and that's a good thing. It may be too freeing. It's a good thing and a bad thing. You know, I think I need some restrictions. 'Cause if I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art. I actually recorded a lot of records already. You know, all those records that leaked [online] were on The Blueprint 3." (MTV)

As previously reported, Roc-A-Fella artist/producer Kanye West recently said the disc would drop next month.

"I'm constantly making music," Ye said in a teleconfernce last November. "We almost finished with Jay album. we almost finished before I even dropped my album. Jay album is coming in February." (SOHH)
Throughout the fall, Ye was reportedly chosen to produce a majority of the project.

Kanye will indeed be producing most, if not all, of the album. Remember back in the day when an artist would do a whole album with one producer for cohesiveness? Think classic Snoop or Jeru with Primo... and fast forward it to 2008. Jay will be leaking the finished version of "Jockin" as soon as he adds a new 3rd verse to the song.
