Republican Party of the United States to adopt Hip Hop mantel

Posted: 19 Feb 2009 01:52 PM PST

Michael Steele, elected in late January as the first black chairman of the Republican National CommitteeThe Republican Party of the United States has revealed to reporters that they are trying to adopt a new image to attract the new Hip-Hop generation voters.

"We want to convey that the modern-day GOP (’Grand Old Party’) looks like the conservative party that stands on principles. But we want to apply them to urban-surburban hip-hop settings."

Not to be a downer but who here thinks that any fan of hip-hop would want to be apart of a party that is known for being racist? The party has already taken steps to clean up their image by first appointing a black man as their chairman (never been done before). And now I guess they will nominate Jay-Z as their secretary.
