| American Idol 8 Contestant Joanna Pacitti Disqualified Posted: 12 Feb 2009 10:21 AM PST Yesterday night our lovely American Idol judges announced our top 36 contestants for season 8 and hopeful Joanna Pacitti was one of them. Unfortunately for her, they have decided to take back their decision and have instead given the spot to contestant Felicia Barton. The reason Joanna was disqualified was due to an already extensive music career. FOX put out a press release saying, "It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition. ‘American Idol' contestant Felicia Barton has replaced Ms. Pacitti as part of the Top 36." According to her Wikipedia and IMDB page (yeah, that’s right), Joanna had been signed to A&M records and has given her voice talents on soundtracks for movies such as Legally Blonde and Bratz. She also appeared in an episode of What I Like About You playing Amber, a singer. Additionally, she had a single that hit radio waves in 2006 called “Let It Slide.” Britney Spears covered her song “Out From Under” which Pacitti sang for the Bratz soundtrack. Britney used it on her most recent album, Circus. By the way, the photo of Joanna on the right is from when she was invited to the People’s Choice Awards in 2007. Yeah, I think it’s safe to say she had a bit more of an advantage over the other contestants. Should Joanna have been sent home? *Written by Lauren Croteau Tags: felicia barton replace joanna pacitti, felicia barton top 36 contestant, joanna pacitti, joanna pacitti eliminated, joanna pacitti kicked out, top 36 contestant disqualified |
