Ryan Seacrest’s Red Carpet “Slumdog Millionaire” Interview

Ryan Seacrest interviewed a lot of people on the red carpet before last night's 81st Academy Awards show but his chat with the cast of Slumdog Millionaire (the biggest winner of the night!) was too adorable so forgive me for sharing it. There were some language barriers as some of the younger children could not speak English but I found myself giggling and getting teary as I watched the excitement on their faces. The best was when he asked one little boy how he felt and the kid said "unbelievable. I never thought it would be an Oscar."

The only thing that made me wince was when Ryan said "she speaks good English" when the tiny actress, Rubina Ali, told him her name. It was awkward but it felt like one of those rare times when something honest happens in Hollywood. Ryan also talked to the other stars, including Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto.

Simon Cowell to be Cryogenically Frozen After Death?

The Mirror is reporting that American Idol judge, Simon Cowell wants his body to be cryogenically frozen after he dies because he believes he will eventually be able to be brought back to life through technological advances.

The 49-year-old apparently made this announcement to Britain's Premier Gordon Brown at a Downing Street dinner. He said: "I've decided to have myself frozen when I die. You know, cryogenics. You pay a load of money and you get stuck in a deep-freeze once you've been declared dead. Medical science is bound to work out a way of bringing us back to life in the next century or so."

I'm guessing Piers Morgan (America's Got Talent's Cowell equivalent) was thinking what I'm thinking because he was brave enough to ask if the Idol judge was being serious and the reply was: "Completely. I'd be doing the nation a service."

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you consider doing something like this? I'm not sure I could. I've heard the rumors that Walt Disney had his body frozen and is stored somewhere beneath Disneyland but I have a hard time believing it.

Nick Mitchell Talks About American Idol

Nick Mitchell, who you may remember best as his alter ego "Norm Gentle" has made it to the Top 36 on the eighth season of American Idol against all odds (and reason?).

He recently spoke to the News-Times and had a few things to share that you might find interesting.

He says that Idol host, Ryan Seacrest is the "most real guy ever" since he spends a lot of times with the contestants off-camera, making sure they are okay (Wow! I actually find that surprising).

He explained that he auditioned for the show after one of his friends dared him to go dressed as "Norman Gentle." I don't even know how I feel about that one considering how many people take the whole process so seriously and get turned away. *sigh*

American Idol season 3 runner-up, Diana DeGarmo, is currently appearing in Oz: The Musical and this video of her, singing "I'm Here" as Dorothy, was uploaded to YouTube a couple days ago. Predictably, she's amazing.
