| Kelly Clarkson Performs “My Life Would Suck Without You” on American Idol Posted: 11 Mar 2009 10:54 PM PDT The original American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, sang her new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" from her album All I Ever Wanted which was released yesterday. She wore all black which was pretty flattering but there was something missing in her eyes (in my opinion). It was great to have her back on the show but, sometimes during the performance, she didn't look like she wanted to be there. It was as if the personality would start to come out but then she would just kinda stand there and sing. Maybe it was nerves? Maybe it was my imagination? Anyway, the crowd seemed to really like it and that's all that matters, right? image © 2009 FOX BROADCASTING CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX Tags: kelly clarkson my life would suck without you, my life would suck without you, results-show |
| Kanye West Sings “Heartless” on American Idol Results Show Posted: 11 Mar 2009 10:46 PM PDT Rapper/singer, Kanye West, performed his single "Heartless" on the American Idol results show tonight and I thought it was a relatively decent performance. I was happy that it went smoothly since there were some issues with his Saturday Night Live performance and I've also noticed that a lot of stars absolutely bomb on the Idol stage. Have you ever noticed that? I wonder what the acoustics are like in that room? Anyway, here's the video: image © 2009 FOX BROADCASTING CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX Tags: kanye west, kanye west american idol, kanye west heartless |
| American Idol Season 8 Top 13 Results Show Posted: 11 Mar 2009 06:24 PM PDT It was an interesting episode tonight. We heard about the new rule, we saw this season's first Ford commercial, performances by Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson and, of course, the two eliminations (pictures and video coming soon). The first bottom two consisted of Jasmine Murray and Megan Joy. Megan didn't have to sweat too long because Ryan told her she was safe. Jasmine performed and Ryan told her she would be eliminated unless the judges chose to save her. No pressure! Of course, Randy told her she was going home and we got to hear Carrie Underwood sing "Home Sweet Home" for the first time this season. The second bottom two consisted of Anoop Desai and Jorge Nunez. Anoop was declared safe and Jorge was forced to sing "Never Can Say Goodbye" again. I always feel sorry for the people who have to sing after learning they've been eliminated. Simon confirmed that the judges were not going to save Jorge with their vote veto and he was sent home.

| American Idol Season 8 Adds New Rule Posted: 11 Mar 2009 06:18 PM PDT Tonight, it was announced that only once during the season, the judges can save a contestant who was voted off but there are conditions. Here they are:
So, if a really talented singer has a bad week, for example, and doesn't get enough votes, the judges can save that person from elimination if they all think they deserve a second chance but they have to choose wisely because they can only do this once between now and the Top 5 performances. Got it? What do you think of this rule change? I kinda like it :) Tags: american idol new rule, american idol rule change |
