You Crazy Dreamers

You Crazy Dreamers

Jess Ribeiro and The Bones Collector

Since Kevin from ‘To the Dogs or Whoever’ quitted blogging, i’m no longer getting great tips about aussie bands, until… Until my browser loads this early morning, the bric-à-brac cdbaby.com new arrivals folk page… And for the first time, the very first click was the right one : Jess Ribeiro and the Bones Collector !

Alternative country folk from the tropical northern territory of Australia, with a diverse saddlebag of mature, enchanting, mesmerising and playful songs.

The opening track from this too short ep - the kind of frustration reminded me one of my best ep last year released by Jess’s fellow country songwriter Phillip Bracken ) is totally bewitching : an amazing voice à la Alela Diane is floating over a delicate  fullstrings composition. Then the first listening of “It’ll Come to Pass” leave me with no voice and confirmed - as the following two tracks - the extent of such a dazzling talent  !

Well I guess I won’t be the only one awaiting for the first full length which should be released later this year…  In the meantime, buy the EP, read and listen to her interview on ABC here.
