Idol Stalker - Watching American Idol

Idol Stalker - Watching American Idol

Megan Joy Has No Regrets, Laughs About Brother’s Heckling

Posted: 03 Apr 2009 11:53 AM PDT

Megan Joy is no longer a contestant on American Idol but that hasn't stopped her from repeating that she "doesn't care" about judge, Simon Cowell's opinions.  A lot of people think that her arrogant comment on this AMERICAN IDOL: Megan Joy (R) is eliminated on AMERICAN IDOL Wednesday, April 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET / PT) on FOX. Also pictured: Kris Allen (L). CR: Michael Becker / FOXweek's results show is what got her eliminated but she isn't taking them back.  In an interview on Ellen (airing on Monday), she said "I really had no idea that it was going to upset him, but I meant it and I wouldn’t take it back… I care about the show and being in the competition. I didn’t care that Simon didn’t like my song."

People were also talking about the fact that Megan, when announced that she was in the bottom three, began flapping her arms like a bird and loudly "cawed" across the stage.  Ellen asked if she was mocking Idol.  "No, I just woke-up feeling like it was my time to go, and I just said to myself: ‘You know what, if I go, I’m going to go out with a bang and enjoy it,’" Megan said. "So I just tried to have a good attitude."

Megan also talked a bit about the controversy surrounding the "heckling" her brother dished out to Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi.  Megan thought it was "kind of funny" and added "I’m always proud of my brother — he’s my boy and like me, he just can’t help but be himself, and I wasn’t surprised at all that he did
it.  It cracked me up.  I was glad that Kara ended up taking it light-heartedly, though!"

If you hadn't heard, Megan's 21-year-old brother, C.J. Knudsen, yelled out, "Broken record!" while Kara was critiquing Joy’s rendition of "Turn Your Lights Down Low."  When Kara learned that he was directing his comment at her (she thought he might have been heckling Megan), she was surprised and asked why he said that.  He replied that "packaged artist" could be Kara's "packaged phrase."

Megan appeared to agree with her brother and said "well, we do hear that comment a lot, you know, and it kind of gets like, ‘All right, well, we already know that!’"

Yeah… I'm all for people being themselves and standing up for what they believe but there comes a time when you've got to know when to keep your mouth shut and I think they both could use a lesson in that…

Simon Cowell Reveals Hatred For Twitter

Posted: 03 Apr 2009 11:05 AM PDT

Ryan Seacrest might love his Twitter account (along with many other American Idol peeps) but judge, Simon Cowell, is not a big fan. twitter logo

He told Extra the following: "Why would you want to talk to people like that? It’s like phoning someone randomly whose number you don’t even have and saying 'Hi, it’s Simon, I went out with my family this weekend."

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with Simon.  I love Twitter for some things (checking up on friends who I haven't had time to connect with or seeing a celebrity reveal big news for the first time) but then at other times, it just annoys me.  I hate when people live-twitter their dates or say things like "spending time with my kids" and then they update every five minutes.  You can't possibly be giving that human interaction the attention it deserves if you are twittering through it.  Do you know what I mean?

Anyhow, if you're interested, check out these American Idol stars who are already on Twitter.  If you know of some more that I have missed, let me know!

David Cook Video “Come Back To Me”

Posted: 03 Apr 2009 07:38 AM PDT

Have you seen the new music video for David Cook's single "Come Back to david cook Me."  He goes back in time through the whole thing and finally get to see the moment when his girlfriend leaves him at the airport.  Kinda sad, actually.

Do you like the song at all?  I love the words but it's taking a while for the melody to grow on me.  It's from his David Cook album and, while it's not as vibrant as "Light On" I think the tenderness is great.  Sometimes rockers need to bring it down a notch and just sing and tell a story and I feel like that is what he's doing here.

Anyway, check out the video:
