Idol Stalker - Watching American Idol |
EW’s Baffling American Idol Prediction Map Posted: 10 Apr 2009 01:02 AM PDT I got a copy of the Entertainment Weekly's prediction map from this week. The map is a visual indicator of who their readers believed were going home. They accurately predicted that Scott MacIntyre would be eliminated but it is the rest of it that confuses me. The thing that baffles me is that Adam Lambert was listed as the second most likely contestant to be voted off (on the prediction site, the map is interactive so you can see which states the votes came from). Isn't that a little surprising given the fact that the audience loved him and the judges gave him a standing ovation? Anyhow, this looks like a fun thing to do so if you want to participate in creating a prediction visit the Entertainment Weekly site. image used with permission Tags: american idol predictions |
Mandisa Talks About Regaining Self-Esteem Posted: 09 Apr 2009 10:59 AM PDT Former American Idol contestant, Mandisa, was on the Today show where she discussed her recent weight loss and struggles with feelings of low self-worth and shame. They showed a clip from her audition where judge, Simon Cowell, asked if they would have a bigger stage that season. The comment hurt Mandisa but I also think it fueled her to look at why she was obese. She has since lost 80lbs and is being open about the childhood sexual abuse that she suffered. I find it to be a truly inspirational story and I'm so happy that she is doing so well. Watch the segment: Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy |
Diana DeGarmo Stalker Denied Bail Posted: 09 Apr 2009 10:46 AM PDT An Australian woman who allegedly stalked American Idol season 3 runner-up, Diana DeGarmo, has been denied bail. Oddly enough, the cyber-stalking began back in May 2007 when Tanye Maree Quattrocci, 23, was convicted of blackmailing and stalking DeGarmo. The whole situation would have ended with Quattrocci completing her community service but the woman just could not stay away. She subsequently hacked into DeGarmo's MySpace account 700 times between May 2008 and January 2009. How is that even possible!? The next hearing for Quattrocci will be held on May 1, 2009 but the woman had tried to petition the court to allow her to get out for Easter, with her mother promising to quit her job to watch over her. The requests were denied. I have loved some celebrities in my lifetime but I've never understood the concept of stalking. The only thing it accomplishes is that the object of your affection will begin to hate and resent you. Sure, they know your name but it doesn't matter because it's a negative thing. Have you ever been tempted to stalk a star in a non-healthy way? I'd love to hear about it! image: Jyle Dupuis Tags: diana degarmo stalker, stalker |
