Simon Denies American Idol Feud… Again

Posted: 16 Apr 2009 11:21 PM PDT

Simon Cowell is doing damage control and he's not the first to deny that there are any problems with the world's most popular talent show.

American Idol Season 8 Judges and Host OK! magazine's current cover story claims that there is a huge rift between American Idol judges, Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul.  Even in the article about Simon, the mag says that during this week's show, the ladies were barely able to look at each other.  I have to disagree with OK! because Kara and Paula were dancing together during Matt Giraud's "sing for your life" performance (although, I had to admit that it did look fake).

Simon said: "They both seem to get along well.  As far as I’m concerned, we’ll all be back on it next year… There's no weirdness going on behind the scenes."

What do you think?  Are things weird between the judges?  They can deny it all they want to but I think something is wrong.  You can just see how Kara is not only left out of stuff but she's mocked and even ignored at times.  Simon and Paula seemed to be making an extra effort to be friendly just to leave Kara out, in my opinion.  It's pretty strange but I will say that I respect Randy since he seems to be the only one of the original three judges to be taking the high road.

Fantasia Gets New VH1 Television Show

Posted: 16 Apr 2009 11:02 PM PDT

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino will be starring in a new unscripted series on VH1.  The show, which is 90208A1 currently planned to premiere in early 2010, will chronicle her life as a recording artist and single mother.

They decided to do the show based on the fact that "Fantasia has one of the most fascinating stories in show business" and I can see what they mean.  I hope this works out for her and doesn't end up adding stress to her life but, with the economy the way it is, I can't imagine turning down an offer to do a television show.

When I watch programs like Jon & Kate Plus Eight and even American Chopper, I always wonder how having cameras following you around affects your real life.  Do your relationships become fake?  Do you lose the intimacy of those private moments?

What do you think?  Would you do a reality TV show and, more importantly, will you watch Fantasia's new show?

Canadian Idol Host Ben Mulroney Moves On

Posted: 16 Apr 2009 10:27 AM PDT

Canadian Idol was cancelled and will not be broadcast this summer but Photoformer host, Ben Mulroney, has found another job.

Like his American Idol counterpart, Ryan Seacrest, Ben will be hosting a new nationally syndicated radio show called "ETalk20" which will go along with his work as a co-host on the ETalk television program.

The show will start this weekend and will be broadcast in 11 cities across Canada.  Mulroney will talk about entertainment news, do celebrity interviews and do a weekly countdown of Canada's hit music.  I think this is a great idea!

Here's a list of the cities/channels:
