Dan Mangan - Until Nice, Nice, Very Nice

In August of 2009, Dan Mangan will release his sophomore album, Nice, Nice, Very Nice. And it's about time. After three and a half years of touring his sleeper-hit, Postcards and Daydreaming, Dan is ready and eager to unveil a collection of lyrical ruminations that showcase his growth as a songwriter.

It’s always a matter of time… sometimes late, sometimes early. So with Dan Mangan’s second full length, you may think that i’m really in advance spreading the word. In fact, once again i’m late writing those couple lines about this awesome Roboteering 5 tracks collection : a really dense container preluding the upcoming realease. Dan’s music seems to have evolved since his first release reminding me either on the opening ‘Robots’ or on  the beautiful “Sold” the sounds of an Elvis Perkins or a favorite Mark Berube… Indeed, it’s a full collaboration EP including  familiar prints : the above mentioned Mark Berube, Veda Hille, Mark Sasso and Shane Koyczan.
