Dolla Shot and Killed, Suspect Held on Bail Posted: 19 May 2009 10:43 AM PDT Akon protégé, Dolla (a.k.a. Roderick Anthony Burton II), was gunned down yesterday while waiting for the valet at the Beverly Center. The murder sent shockwaves through Los Angeles since it was shocking that the crime took place that the very popular, upscale shopping mall. The 21-year-old had just completed his first album Another Day, Another Dolla, which is due out this summer. The incident allegedly began around 3pm when Dolla got into an altercation of some sort with a man and a woman and ended with him being shot in the head. Although Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was just a few blocks from the mall, there was nothing that could be done to save his life and he died. It didn't take long for the cops to track down the suspect who is currently being held on $1 million bail. The LAPD have detained 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry who they found about an hour later at Los Angeles International Airport. Reports state that he was allegedly armed with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. Two other persons of interest, a man and woman, have been questioned in connection to the shooting but not charged. There hasn't been any information about what caused the argument in the first place. Dolla's funeral will be held in Atlanta sometime in the near future. image: Zuma Press Tags: dolla, dolla killed, dolla shot |
Posted: 19 May 2009 09:51 AM PDT T.I. is due to check in with prison authorities in 11 day to begin his one year and a day sentencing. It was announced today that that sentence will be reduced to just 60 days instead. A judge concluded that his past 305 days under house arrest will count as time spent. Wow, I want T.I.'s lawyer. Though I do understand the verdict. I mean being under house arrest may not be a jail term, but it still sucks. T.I. was arrested for trying to buy illegal weapons after surviving a failed shooting attack. Image: Newscom Tags: prison, t.i., t.i. jail, t.i. prison |
