| Kris Allen wins American Idol 8 -- shocking results? Posted: 20 May 2009 07:29 PM PDT Were you shocked of the American Idol 8 results? I wasn't. I know it's gonna happen. The millions of teeny girls just couldn't stop voting for Kris. I am sure those 100 million votes cast last night were coming from the girls who love the charming-looking Kris Allen. But in the end, Idol isn't about winning. American Idol is about longevity of career. Kris Allen may have won the title but Adam Lambert could surpass Kris in album sales soon. We know that a runner-up place is never a negative position to be in. Adam could always prove he is someone better than Kris by outselling the latter on sales. See the success of previous Idol runners-up, and see the declining popularity of some Idol winners... So, do you think Kris Allen deserves the "American Idol 8 Winner" title? Commercial break. "Permanent" -- David Cook performs new single. Permanent is dedicated to David Cook's brother who passed away recently. American Idol Golden award -- LOL. Idol is giving an award to the most funny season 8 auditionee. Outstanding male is Nick Mitchell. Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah duet. Commercial break. Anoop Desai performs with Alexis and Jason Mraz. Kris Allen sings with Keith Urban. Commercial break. Idol girls sing with Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas. Golden Idol Awards for Best Attitude: Bikini Girl wins the award.
