Pink Floyd Converse All Stars

Pink Floyd. Just the name brings such a joy to me heart. I’m not one of those fans that gushes over the early Pink Floyd works, but I still love the band for the albums that I own and the spectacle of their live shows.

Even David Gilmour still brings a smile to my face every time I hear his voice in his solo work. It’s soothing, trippy rock & roll that just makes you feel good. You don’t have to be a drug user to enjoy Pink Floyd as a lot of people assume. You just have to be a person that enjoys great music. Pink Floyd are simply legends in rock and Converse knows that.

In celebration of 100 years of the Converse All Stars, Converse has been releasing special edition “Chucks” in all sorts of different flavors. From The Who, The Doors, Ozzy Osbourne to Black Sabbath, Converse has been celebrating their legacy as well as giving tribute to some of the greatest bands in rock history. Their latest edition is the Pink Floyd line of All Stars, branded with designs of historic albums from the band.

The Dark Side Of The Moon All Stars are beautiful with Black on black soles and canvas with the beam of light projecting through the prism to create the r.o.y.g.b.v. rainbow. The beam starts out at the toe, hits the prism at the ankle and the rainbow raps around the back of the shoe and continues back around to the tow. Inside you’ll find a rainbow colored insole. The All Star stamped logo is inconspicuous in black on the inside of the ankle as it always is. The low cuts are similar but the album art only reaches around one side of the shoe and as you can see, the shoes are black canvas on white sole. While the Dark Side Of The Moon Shoes are really cool, they my favorite of the line. (Click on the thumbnail to enlarge, then just click “back on your browser to return to the post).

These are my favorite as is my favorite album. 1975’s Wish You Were Here, the tribute to former and now deceased band member Sid Barret. Wish you were here is and always will be a classic album and these shoes are more of a collectors item than a piece of apparel. The entire canvas was used with album art. On one side you have the burning business man handshake photo and on the other side you have the faceless salesman with the record in his hand. The tongue is all black and the rear Achilles support says Pink Floyd. I don’t even want to wear these shoes, I want to display them and I think that’s what will actually become of them.

You can find these shoes at your local Journey’s or at Journey’s online. A must have for the die-hard ‘Floyd fan.
