David Cook Talks to Larry King About Brother, Fame

Posted: 15 Jun 2009 08:44 PM PDT

American Idol season 7 winner, David Cook, sat down with CNN's Larry King last night and he touched on a variety of topics.  Of course, Larry asked about the death of David's brother, Adam, who recently died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

Watch the video (can I just take a moment to complain about how CNN introduced the show's guests?  Right after they mention Adam Cook, they bring up Heidi and Spencer Pratt which just felt cheap but I digress…)

David also talked about what it's been like to suddenly become famous.  It's got to be crazy to audition for a show as an relatively unknown person and then compete on a program only to emerge as a bona fide rock star when it's all over.  Can you imagine what that's like?  He's got a lot of touring ahead of him in the months to come.

Will Danny Gokey Get A Contract With 19 Records?

Posted: 15 Jun 2009 09:33 AM PDT

Danny Gokey was back home in Milwaukee where he talked to Fox News about his charity, Sophia's Heart Foundation, which has received some sizable donations since he appeared on American Idol.  He also spoke of his work with Habitat for Humanity and I'm so happy to see that Danny is working to help those in need.

Danny also revealed that he will be meeting with the 19 Records president and Sony Nashville which is some pretty exciting news.  What would you think about a country album for Danny?  While I'm not completely sure if it's the right fit, I will agree that it is better than rock or pop for his voice and would be more mainstream than gospel.  I think that with the right writers and promotion, he could do quite well since so many country songs are straight from the heart and Danny definitely has some stories to tell.

Adam Lambert Working With Lady Gaga Producer

Posted: 15 Jun 2009 09:15 AM PDT

I read on E! Online that American Idol Season 8 runner-up, Adam Lambert, will be working with RedOne, the producer behind Lady Gaga's hugely successful singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face."  As the article mentions, it's starting to feel like glam rock is about to make a HUGE comeback – with a modern spin, of course.

Apparently, Adam spent much of this past weekend working in a Los Angeles recording studio with the producer who has also worked with Akon, Enrique Iglesias and Michael Jackson.  Who knows what kind of tracks he laid down with Adam?  A label source simply said that it will be "a new sound that goes beyond what he did on Idol."

Glambert will be dropping his debut album this fall on RCA Recordings.
