Jeff Archuleta Caught With Prostitute? Posted: 17 Jun 2009 11:06 PM PDT I've read reports on Us Weekly and RadarOnline that, Jeff Archuleta, the father of American Idol season 7 runner-up, David Archuleta, was arrested after police found him in a massage parlor with a prostitute. WHOA! There have always been all kinds of rumors about the odd behavior of Jeff (who allegedly withheld water from David during a rehearsal) but this is the first time I've heard anything that was actually incriminating. Apparently, Jeff pleaded no contest and paid a $582 fine after being busted at the Queens of Reiki on January 14, 2009 in Midvale, Utah. As Us Weekly reports, Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar said: "Two of our detectives went back to that room to stop the activity. Inside they found a female masseuse and male client. At that time an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse." Court documents reveal that 41-year-old Jeff Archuleta was that male client. His lawyer says that it things are not what they appeared and that Jeff was there for a back problem and simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. There's a lot of things to consider. The first is that even good people make dumb mistakes sometimes. Second, it's really none of our business. Third, he actually might be innocent (I doubt it, though, if he didn't even try to fight the charges). For those of you who want to talk about this, I'm sure the fact that this is a Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) family is going to come up. Of course, being religious doesn't make you an actual saint and getting down with a hooker doesn't make you evil. I'd like to know what you think about this, though. My only real immediate frustration was over the fact that this must have been pretty hard on David who has all but said that he plans to wait for marriage. image: Newscom Post from: Idol Stalker |
Simon Cowell at 2009 Royal Ascot Day 1 Posted: 17 Jun 2009 04:58 PM PDT American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, was spotted on Day 1 at the 2009 Royal Ascot races. I have to say that seeing him all dressed up in tails is so different from his regular black t-shirt and jeans. The race dates back to 1711 and is attended by the Queen of England and is considered a major event in the British Royal family's annual schedule. It looks like Simon was having a really good time and, from the high-fives going around, I would have to guess that he placed a bet on one of the horses and won. As if he needs more money! images: Zuma Press Post from: Idol Stalker |
Kellie Pickler at 2009 CMT Music Awards Posted: 17 Jun 2009 03:19 PM PDT Kellie Pickler looked gorgeous at the 2009 CMT Music Awards last night in both her red carpet dress and the outfit she wore during her performance. She performed "Best Days Of Your Life" and was nominated for Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year for "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" but ended up losing both times to her close friend, Taylor Swift, for her hugely popular "Love Story." Watch Kellie’s performance below. I think that she’s definitely gotten better at singing this song live but she still had a few shaky moments. Overall, it was pretty good for an awards show appearances since I’m sure it’s pretty scary to sing in front of all those other country stars! Kellie also presented the "Breakthrough Video of the Year" award with fellow American Idol personality, Randy Jackson. I know that I said Kellie looked good but Randy looked pretty great too! Their dialogue was a bit silly, though. The prize ended up going to the Zac Brown Band for their hit "Chicken Fried."

Simon, Randy, Paula and Kara Still Negotiating Contracts Posted: 17 Jun 2009 03:09 PM PDT I know a lot of media outlets are reporting that the American Idol judges are set to come back for the ninth season of the show but when I looked at their sources for that information, I couldn't go along with it. I'm glad I didn't fall for that (even though it might be true) since E! Online is saying that Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and newest judge, Kara DioGuardi, are still negotiating. Apparently, Paula's agent said: "The RadarOnline info is incorrect. Negotiations are continuing. You probably won’t hear anything until closer to September, when judges are needed back to go on the road." So, what would you like to see happen? I'd actually like to see another season with all four judges. I don't think one year is enough to judge the addition of a fourth judge. image © 2009 FOX BROADCASTING CR: FOX Post from: Idol Stalker |
