Idol Stalker - Watching American Idol

Kellie Pickler Performs at the 2009 Country Stampede

Posted: 01 Jul 2009 12:56 AM PDT

Former American Idol finalist, Kellie Pickler, performed at the 2009 Country Stampede Music Festival which took place from June 25-28.  The four-day event is the largest annual music festival in Kansas and, this year, it featured a great lineup including Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton among others.

It looks like Kellie really enjoyed herself which is great.  It's so important to love what you do and I always hate to see someone performing who looks like they'd rather be somewhere else.

American Idol David Cook on The Fuse - Video

Posted: 30 Jun 2009 05:21 PM PDT

David Cook appeared on The Fuse's No. 1 Countdown where he talked about his eclectic taste in music.  I also love music from all genres so I think that's pretty cool.  He also mentioned how weird it was to see his own face all over iTunes after he won American Idol – I can't even imagine how crazy that must have been.  He credits his father for encouraging him to play the guitar and for shaping David's musical style.

He also talks about a lot of different topics including what it was like when he moved out on his own for the first time, what kind of instruments he's been learning to play and which groups influenced him when he put together his own band.  It's a fun interview, check it out!

Last night when I was looking through Twitter before I went to bed, I noticed this Tweet from American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks: "Hey everyone! Please go pre-order my new album BATTLEFIELD on iTunes now! If you do you get my new song VERTIGO! RT please! Looove you! :)"

The album details on Amazon don't include previews of the songs yet, but you can check out the tracklisting below:

  1. Walking On Snow
  2. Battlefield
  3. Don’t Let It Go To Your Head
  4. S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)
  5. It Takes More
  6. Watch You Go
  7. No Parade
  8. Let It Rain
  9. Emergency (911)
  10. Was I The Only One
  11. Faith
  12. The Cure

Have you pre-ordered the album?  I've noticed that the first single "Battlefield" (watch her perform it live with the Jonas Brothers) is getting more and more airplay (I can't go shopping without hearing it).  I'm happy for her and I hope this album is a huge success.  It seems like she's matured as an artist so I'm very interested in hearing the whole thing.

Jordin Sparks sophomore album, Battlefield, becomes available on July 21, 2009.
