Music Is My King Size Bed

Music Is My King Size Bed

She Wolf Is Coming...Shakira Shakira!

First off...gotta say how THRILLED I am that the Wade Robson Jazz routine on "So You Think You Can Dance" was choreographed to "Ruby Blue" by Roisin Murphy. This is the third or fourth time SYTYCD has used a Roisin track and EVERY TIME they do, I can't stop smiling. She's got such a unique quality to her voice and the way the choreography and music always come together is just so haunting.

Back to biz-ness...got the official Epic Records e-newsletter, alerting us to the fact that Shakira's new single will be available for download (in both English & Spanish) next week - July 14th. As I've mentioned before, I think this song is hot. Shakira's vocals are pretty polarizing...you either love them and embrace that funky timbre she has going on...or you think she sounds like she's singing with a stuffy nose. I happen to love her sound and embrace her uniqueness. The electro Gaga-esque sounds Shakira is working with here certainly rubs me the right way. I'll be up at
midnight waiting for it's release - no doubt!

According to the release, we can expect the video premiere later this month. Shakira confirmed that the video is in fact done on her Twitter page today. The album remains untitled at present, but is expected out this October via Epic. The album was written/produced by Shakira and big name producers like Pharrell Williams. While the new album is "mostly English-language," a full Spanish-language album is expected sometime in 2010. Exciting indeed.

Beyoncé - Sweet Dreams - Streamweaver Remixes

Posted: 08 Jul 2009 06:51 PM PDT

And just yesterday I was talking about how I DON'T post music for download on my blog. Well times...they are a changin'!

I was pleasantly surprised to get an email today from Streamweaver, a New York-based remixer/producer (?), who wanted some feedback on his remixes for Beyoncé's "Sweet Dreams," the video for which recently premiered online. From her recent album, I Am...Sasha Fierce, "Sweet Dreams" is just the latest of a string of singles from this album remixed for the clubs.

I got to say that these mixes are pretty hot. I'm not the BIGGEST Beyoncé fan in the world but I think she's uber-talented and I always love how she sounds remixed for the dancefloor. The sound quality of these mixes is EXCELLENT and the production is quite nice as well. I don't know much about Streamweaver, but I want to hear more!

Streamweaver was generous enough to authorize me to post these up here for download. They are available in WAV and MP3 (320 kbps) formats for your listening pleasure.

Sweet Dreams (Streamweaver Club Mix) - 7:16
Sweet Dreams (Streamweaver Radio Mix) - 3:51
Sweet Dreams (Streamweaver "Lights On" Dub) - 8:04
Sweet Dreams (Streamweaver Tribe-A-Pella) - 6:17

Download them HERE. You can preview the radio edit on the official Streamweaver Productions MySpace page. What do you think? Leave comments here and visit his MySpace page!
