Anastacia Live at 2009 Lucca Summer Festival in Italy

Although Anastacia is from the United States, she has enjoyed most of her success in Europe, Oceania and Latin America.  It's surprising that she hasn't quite caught on despite the fact that, as of 2005, she has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

I've always heard about her and I've heard some of her music but I've never seen any of her live performances.  When I saw these pictures of her performance at the Lucca Summer Festival in Italy earlier this week, I thought I would share them with any Anastacia fans out there while, perhaps, introducing her to some of my readers for the first time.

I scoured through YouTube to find some good videos from the event but when I found something with good video, the audio was terrible and those that sounded good were poor film quality.  In the end, the latter won out so you can hear her pretty well in this video but you can't see what's she's really doing on stage very well.

Katy Perry Graces the Cover of Cosmopolitan

Posted: 09 Jul 2009 09:39 PM PDT

The current issue of Cosmopolitan magazine features rising star, Katy Perry.  The article talks about how she broke into the music industry but you can also check out her 10 Best Beauty Moments.  Katy explains that she started singing when she was nine years old, began playing guitar and then realized that she was destined to be a performer when she was just 15 years old.

I haven't read the article yet, but I'm sure it is interesting.  I go back and forth between liking and disliking Katy Perry.  Sometimes I feel like she's being genuine and other times, it seems like she's trying too hard.

Here's a behind-the-scenes video of Katy talking about what it's like to shoot her first Cosmo cover.  She also discussed her personal style and how her mother always encouraged her to be herself, no matter how outlandish it was.  She says that people shouldn't be afraid to take chances since they could accidentally stumble upon their unique look.  I agree with that completely!
