Lily Allen, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry at T In The Park

Posted: 14 Jul 2009 10:21 AM PDT

Over the weekend, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry were among the acts that performed at Scotland's annual music festival, T in the Park.  It looks like it was another huge event and I really wish I could have been there.  It seems like everyone had a great time!

Lily Allen performed songs like "Back to the Start" and covered the Britney Spears hit "Womanizer" (videos after the jump!).  She sported a smooth dark bob and dark clothing and she really engaged the crowd.  The more I see her, the more I like her.  If you haven't watched it already, check out her new video for the single "22."

Lady Gaga brought her controversial style to the main stage.  As you could expect, she was scantily clad and treated the audience to her trademark sexualized (possibly crude?) performances.  She sang her biggest hits including "Poker Face," "Just Dance" and "Paparazzi" (videos after the jump!).

Katy Perry got the crowd really going with "I Kissed a Girl," "Waking Up in Vegas" and "Thinking of You" (videos after the jump!).  I'm not sure I thought it was the best vocal performance but they seemed to really like it.  I also thought she put a little thought into what she wore.  While it might not be traditional clothing I do feel like it was a nod to Scottish kilts.

Erykah Badu Releasing New Amerykah Part 2

Posted: 14 Jul 2009 09:47 AM PDT

Last year, Erykah Badu released New Amerykah, Pt. 1: 4th World War (February 26, 2008), and it was the unique, funky sound that you would expect from her.  It was well received and sold 354,000 copies.  Billboard is now reporting that she will be releasing the follow-up album, New Amerykah Part 2: Return of the Ankh, very soon but no release date has been given.

If you heard about Badu with her early singles "On and On" and "Tyrone" but haven't kept tabs on her career over this past decade, you might be interested to know that she has kept really busy.  Aside from releasing three albums (with the fourth on the way), she recently appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon alongside The Roots during the episode that paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

She's also kicked off an international tour earlier this month which started in Milan on July 8th and will wrap up in Memphis in early September.  In case you'd like to try to catch one of her shows, here are the remaining dates:

  • Jul. 15: Oslo (Santrum Scene)
  • Jul. 17: Pori (Pori Jazz Festival/Kirjurinluoto Arena)
  • Jul. 19: Stockholm (Stockholm International Jazz Festival)
  • Jul. 21: Nice (Nice Jazz Festival)
  • Aug. 6: Atlantic City, N.J. (TBA)
  • Aug. 7: Detroit (TBA)
  • Sept. 10: Memphis (Orpheum Theatre)
