Kate Voegele “99 Times” Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien

Kate Voegele performed her super catchy song "99 Times" from her album, A Fine Mess, on the Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien last night and she did a great job!  She also looked really pretty (I wish I knew what brand lip gloss she was wearing because I'd buy it immediately!).  The bass part on this song is great, especially towards the end, so I was happy that it came out well during this live performance.

Jordin Sparks “Battlefield” Album Released Today

The sixth American Idol, Jordin Sparks, has released her second album Battlefield is now available.  The first single "Battlefield" is already getting a ton of airplay so I'm sure she'll sell a lot of copies.  jordin sparks battlefield

From what I've heard (read my full review on Idol Stalker), this is better than her first album, Tattoo, so she's moving in the right direction.  I feel like they gave her some better songs but it still falls short of what she's capable of. 

Aside from the title track, the ones that stood out to me were "Walking on Snow," "It Takes More," "Emergency (911)," "Was I The Only One" and "The Cure." 

Of course, I'd love to hear what you thought of the new album once you've had a chance to sit and really listen to it.  I think her sound has matured and her vocal control has definitely improved but she still has some ground to cover.
