Kelly Clarkson & Beyoncé Burned By Ryan Tedder?

Posted: 27 Jul 2009 02:44 PM PDT

The ever outspoken, Kelly Clarkson, has some choice words about her new single "Already Gone" from her album All I Ever Wanted.  Apparently, she worked on the single with OneRepublic frontman, Ryan Tedder, and he failed to mention the fact that he had created a similar song for Beyoncé.  So, basically, his actions ended up making the original American Idol winner look like a copy-cat when she's not.

In a recent interview with CBC (a Canadian television network), Kelly explained:  "Ryan and I met each other at the record label, before he was working with anyone else. … I’d never heard of a song called ‘Halo’. Her [Beyonce] album came out when my album was already being printed," Kelly told CBC News. "No-one’s gonna be sittin’ at home, thinking ‘Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyonce and Kelly the same track to write to.’ No, they’re just gonna be saying I ripped someone off. I called Ryan and said, ‘I don’t understand. Why would you do that?’.  In the end, they’re releasing it without my consent. It sucks, but it’s one of those things I have no control over. I already made my album. At this point, the record company can do whatever they want with it. It’s kind of a shitty situation, but. … You know, you learn."

Need proof?  Listen to both tracks.  It's really too bad since I think Kelly sounds great on this song (she even has a little Sarah McLachlan style to some of her phrasing) but it will always be tainted by this controversy.  There's no reason to boycott it or anything but it's just unfortunate.

Here's Beyoncé's "Halo.Obviously, we're looking at the music not the vocals.  You'll notice that the chords and progression are basically identical and the drum part is very, very similar although Kelly's is more subtle.  It's so weird because Beyoncé also has a little Sarah McLachlan styling going on.  So crazy.

Leona Lewis Seeks Hypnotherapy for Fears

Posted: 27 Jul 2009 01:45 PM PDT

Apparently, Leona Lewis has been suffering with some pre-tour jitters.  It's surprising in a sense because I think I assume that, after a while in the business, this type of stuff melts away.  However, celebrities are just regular people who just happen to be famous so it really shouldn't be unexpected to hear that someone needs a little confidence booster.BlackBerry Pre-Grammy Party

Apparently, Simon Cowell has arranged for Leona to be treated by celebrity therapist, Paul McKenna, before she embarks on her 14-month tour.

As one "source" said (take it with a grain of salt): "seeing as Leona is on the path to becoming a global touring powerhouse, no corners will be cut.  She already has bags more poise and confidence than she used to but she's a natural born worrier.  Bosses at Syco (Cowell’s music management company) want to make sure her performance is as perfect and polished as an artist who has been around for years."

I've undergone hypnotherapy myself and found some benefit but I certainly couldn't afford to go to someone as qualified and experienced as Paul McKenna.  Others seem to have found some relief as well.  Melanie Brown (formerly "Scary Spice" of the Spice Girls) used hypnotherapy to calm her nerves before a burlesque performance of "Peep Show" in Las Vegas and Eva Mendes reported used it to get over her fear of spiders.
