Mariah Carey Gets A “Warning” From Eminem

Posted: 31 Jul 2009 11:47 AM PDT

I'm guessing Eminem didn't find Mariah Carey’s new video for her single "Obsessed" too amusing.  So many people have speculated that she dressed up in this hoodie to parody the rapper even though she denies it.  Mariah Carey

The two have been publicly taking jabs at each other for years ever since they had a six-month relationship of some sort back in 2001 but neither of them has been able to put it behind them.  She says that she never had a sexual relationship with him and that he was overly into her while he says that she was the one doing all the stalking and leaving pleading voicemails.

I'm guessing seeing this new video made Eminem see red and I can assume he didn't believe her denials about it being a dig at Slim Shady (yeah, I didn't buy it either).

When you do something like this to a guy like Eminem, you can expect a serious backlash and, unfortunately, that's exactly what has happened.  He has released a track called "The Warning" and he's not even hinting to the fact that he's talking to Mariah – he calls her out directly and even includes little snippets of her.  Listening to his lyrics, I can't believe he'd be lying.  Here are some samples (the rest are way too dirty to print):

  • "You probably think since it’s been so long if I had something on you I woulda did it by now, on the contrary, Mary Poppins, I’m mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud, enough dirt on you to murder you, this is what the f–k I do…Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?"
  • "But if I’m embarrassing me, I’m embarrassing you and don’t you dare say it isn’t true."
  • "As long as the song’s getting airplay I’m dissing you, I’m a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued, I was gonna stop at 16, this is 32, this is 34 bars, we ain’t even a third of the way through."

Listen to it for yourself.  If you know anything about Eminem, you'll know that this is probably not safe for work and the lyrics could be offensive to some.

Britney Spears is a “Dirty Girl”

Posted: 31 Jul 2009 11:36 AM PDT

If you follow producer/remixer, Russ Castella, on Twitter, you might have noticed these updates:

  • "Working on the new britney track…but shhhh it’s supposed to be a secret”
  • “The new britney track is called ‘Dirty Girl’ and its gonna be realllllyyyyy dirty.”

Apparently, Britney Spears will be releasing a new track called "Dirty Girl."  My immediate thought was, does Britney really need to get more dirty?  My second thought was, "I hope this doesn't bring back those comparisons to Christina Aguilera" (who famously released a song called "Dirrty" from her Stripped album back in 2002).

I don't know if this track will be included on her upcoming greatest hits album but I am interested in hearing what it sounds like.  Castella is a 25-year-old from Azerbaijan and he's worked with some big names and his production/remix credits include "Boom Boom Pow" (Black Eyed Peas), "Circus -  Russ Castella Remix" (Britney Spears), "S.O.S" (Rihanna) and "Prom Queen" (Lil Wayne).

Madonna’s New Single “Celebration”

Posted: 31 Jul 2009 11:21 AM PDT

Have you heard Madonna's new single "Celebration"?  Well, the first positive thing about it is that it doesn't madonna celebrationappear to be steeped in auto-tune so that's a plus.

The Material Girl is known for re-inventing herself but I'm not sure she really accomplishes that on this track but it is a good dance song and her music has always been known for being danceable.

I'm not going to say it's the best thing I've ever heard but it's decent considering it's the first single off of the upcoming Celebration which will be her third "greatest hits" collection.  The album will be released in September.

I'd love to know what you think of this song?  Listen to it here:
