This year's VMA nominations are a testament to how powerful women have become in the music industry. Beyoncé and Lady Gaga lead the pack with 9 nods but Britney Spears isn't far behind with seven nominations. I'm happy for everyone but I'm ecstatic for Britney. 
Just two years ago, she had that disastrous "Gimme More" performance at the VMAs and I actually worried that she might not live to see the next year. Now she's back on top and she's in good company.
