Kaiser Chiefs Not Splitting – Deny Twitter Claims They Are Posted: 31 Aug 2009 01:53 PM PDT We’ve already had one great British band split up this week, so we hardly need another. But fear not Kaiser Chiefs fans, because they aren’t splitting up. Despite what an overeager music journalist may have implied on Twitter. The Kaisers did, however, pay tribute to Oasis over the weekend, the band that have gone their separate ways. XFM news reporter Sunta Templeton posted messages on Twitter yesterday after interviewing the Kaiser Chiefs at Leeds festival. She claimed this show “could be the end” for them and that there would be no more albums from the band.
Which is all rubbish according to Nick Hodgson, the drummer and songwriter of the group. He told NME:
The Kaiser Chiefs then went on to play a stunning set at Leeds which saw them incorporate a tribute to Oasis into Oh My God by including the opening bars of Live Forever. There have been rumors about the Kaiser Chiefs splitting before, and a quick glance at the band Web site tells you they have no more gigs lined up for the rest of this year. But I can’t personally see it happening. I would like to know what made Templeton imply they were splitting though. Did the band say something that hinted it was the end or did she just make it up to gain Twitter followers and publicity for XFM? [Photo Source: Newscom] Post from: Brit Music Scene |
