The Prodigy – ‘Take Me To The Hospital’ Music Video Posted: 01 Sep 2009 07:00 PM PDT The Prodigy have had a fair few years out of the limelight. But they came back this year with a brand new album and this is their brilliant new single. The album is called Invaders Must Die and the single is called Take Me To The Hospital. The Prodigy have always been a great band, mixing traditional elements of dance with other genres including rock and alternative. Take Me To The Hospital looks, sounds, and feels very retro, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it has the dual effect of taking the older generation back a decade while exciting and intriguing a new generation.
The video is very reminiscent of older stuff by The Prodigy, instantly reminding me of No Good (Start The Dance), Firestarter, and Breathe. It’s dark, slightly insane, and instantly mood-setting. The Prodigy are most definitely back. The new album is fantastic and this single is also astoundingly catchy, despite or maybe because of its old-school nature. Take Me To The Hospital is out now. Bloc Party Announcing Oasis Split At Rock en Seine Video Posted: 01 Sep 2009 11:31 AM PDT In case you still haven’t heard, Oasis have split up. Well, Noel Gallagher has left the band, whether the rest of them continue on or not without him has yet to be decided. They final straw for Noel came when he and Liam fought before playing their headlining set at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris on Friday night. Video has now surfaced of Bloc Party telling the crowd that Oasis had canceled. The YouTube clip shows Kele Okereke breaking the news to the crowd, and reveling in the fact their cancellation meant Bloc Party were effectively headlining. Oasis and Bloc Party have never been the best of friends, with Noel Gallagher criticizing them when they first came on the scene in 2005. Which may explain why Okereke didn’t seem to cut up by the news. He said, “Oasis have canceled, so I’d like to take this moment to say, ‘That’s a shame, isn’t it guys?’ I’d like to dedicate this next song to anyone who really wanted to see those inbred twins.” Tell it like it is Kele, tell it like it is.
