She Plays Music

Mariah Carey – “I Want To Know What Love Is” on Oprah

Mariah Carey performed "I Want To Know What Love Is" on Oprah last Friday.  The song is the second single from her upcoming Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and, of course, it's a cover of the 1984 power balled by Foreigner.

I really don't like the idea that she's releasing a cover.  What do you think of it?  While we're dissecting Mariah's choices, can I also bring up the fact that she's reverted to how she looked when she debuted in the music industry?  I don't know if she's trying to recapture who she was back then but I just feel that, between the remade song and remade look, it just feels dated.
