UK Music Charts – Oct 4 – Paramore and Taio Cruz Posted: 04 Oct 2009 01:46 PM PDT The UK music charts may mean less now than they used to but they're still an indicator of what's hot on the popular British music scene right now. This week's Top 10 singles and Top 10 albums are listed below. In the singles chart, Taio Cruz held on to the top spot he captured last week with Break Your Heart. Overall, the top ten didn’t see much change, so Jay-Z managed a second week with two tracks present. Dizzee Rascal saw Holiday drop out only to be replaced by his new track, Dirtee Cash. Aussie four-piece The Temper Trap jumped from 12 to seven with Sweet Disposition. Madonna only managed one week atop the albums chart, with Celebration being knocked off by Paramore with Brand New Eyes. Paramore have finally found huge success in the UK, with their first album not doing of note and even their last album only peaking at number 24. Newton Faulkner, Barbra Streisand, and Ian Brown all had new entries in the chart.

N-Dubz and Gary Barlow Collaborate – Kylie Minogue Is Next Posted: 04 Oct 2009 08:10 AM PDT Although a lot of people may hate N-Dubz and think their music is rubbish, their reputation is growing and their rise to the top doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon. After a string of hits, a bestselling album, and a couple of MOBO awards, the London hip-hop, grime outfit are set to spread their wings a little. Whether you like them or not you have to give N-Dubz credit for what they’ve achieved. And they’re set to achieve a lot more in the future, especially with other big name artists queuing up to collaborate with them.
Richard ‘Fazer’ Rawson recently spoke to BBC Newsbeat about working on a new track with Take That’s Gary Barlow. He said:
And a collaboration with Australian pop tartlet Kylie Minogue seems to be next on the agenda:
It probably will be as well. N-Dubz have already enjoyed chart success with one collaboration, when they appeared on Tinchy Stryder’s number one, aptly titled Number One. And I suspect these collaborations will also foster more hits in the future. After all, both Gary Barlow and Kylie Minogue are big stars with lots of fans. Talk about aligning yourself with big hitters. [Photo Source: Amazon.co.uk] Post from: Brit Music Scene |
