Iggy Pop And The Stooges Guitarist Ron Asheton Found Dead In His Home

Ron Asheton, Original guitar player for Iggy Pop And The Stooges was found dead was found dead in his Ann Arbor, Michigan home early this morning Asheton’s personal assistant called police after not being able to contact him. It’s been reported that he had been dead for several days. An autopsy and toxicology report will determine time and cause of death. Asheton was 60 years old.

The Stooges were an influential band from 1967 until their break up in 1974 due to various problems to include Iggy Pop’s heroin addiction. They reunited in 2003, recorded a new studio album (The Weirdness) and played various live shows. The Stooges were recently nominated for induction in to The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. TV Land To Celebrate Elvis Presley’s 74th Birthday
