| Jennifer Hudson Wins Grammy For R&B Album of the Year Posted: 08 Feb 2009 11:31 PM PST It must have been a bittersweet night for Jennifer Hudson who can now put her Grammy Award next to her Oscar (for her role in Dreamgirls). The former American Idol finalist took home the prize for "R&B Album of the Year" for her debut album Spotlight. Video of her emotion-filled acceptance speech keeps getting pulled but here are some pictures!

| Fantasia Sparkles on Grammy Red Carpet Posted: 08 Feb 2009 11:24 PM PST American Idol season 3 winner, Fantasia Barrino, sparkled in a gorgeous black dress on the red carpet at the 2009 Grammy Awards (I don't know about those shoes, though). When she stopped to speak to Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, he actually asked her if the rumors about Simon Cowell paying off her defaulted mortgage were true. She said "no" but wished that he would pay for it!

| Jennifer Hudson Gives Emotional Performance at 2009 Grammy Awards Posted: 08 Feb 2009 11:12 PM PST Jennifer Hudson blew me away last night. Not only did she look absolutely stunning, she gave an emotional performance that left me crying on my couch. She is so brave. She only recently returned to the public eye after the tragic murder of her mother, brother and nephew and I think she is doing incredibly well.

| Paula Abdul Chooses Yellow For 2009 Grammy Red Carpet Posted: 08 Feb 2009 11:03 PM PST American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, was spotted on the red carpet at last night's Grammy Awards and she chose a yellow chiffon dress created by the new designer Basil Soda. I try to remain neutral but does Paula seem a little… happy? I don't know. Anyway, what do you think of the dress? I kind of hate the choice. It makes her look frumpy and the color is kind of awful. It's only my opinion, though. Do you like it?

| Jordin Sparks Shines at 2009 Grammy Awards Posted: 08 Feb 2009 10:57 PM PST Did you see Jordin Sparks on the red carpet tonight at the 2009 Grammy Awards? She looked fabulous. I didn't really like how long her earrings were but I thought the dress was VERY flattering. What did you think of her red carpet fashion?

| Carrie Underwood Red Carpet, Performance and Win at 2009 Grammy Awards Posted: 08 Feb 2009 10:46 PM PST American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, was an all-around star at the 51st Grammy Awards tonight.
 She started the night by talking to Idol host, Carrie Underwood, on the red carpet and, when Ryan started getting a little personal, she said "I'm not going to make out with you like Bikini Girl." Ha ha!!! What a smart girl! She also won for "Female Country Vocal Performance" and beat out Martina McBride ("For These Times"), Leanne Rimes ("What I Cannot Change"), Lee Ann Womack ("Last Call") and Trisha Yearwood ("This Is Me You're Talking To"). The poor girl had so far to travel to accept the award for her song "Last Name."
 The best "Carrie Moment" of the night, however, was when she performed her award-winning song "Last Name." She's come such a long way since her days on American Idol where she was such a stiff (but vocally-gifted) performer. She was sultry, powerful and captivating (videos keep getting pulled so here's a nice picture for now). Fierce!

| American Idol Stars at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Party Posted: 08 Feb 2009 05:12 PM PST American Idol stars turned out to attend the pre-Grammy Awards part of Arista Records head, Clive Davis. From the pictures I was able to find, I saw Carrie Underwood (winner, Season 4), Jennifer Hudson (finalist, Season 3) Kelly Clarkson (winner, Season 1), Chris Daughtry (finalist, Season 5), Fantasia Barrino (winner, Season 3) and Idol judge, Paula Abdul. Other guests included big-name celebs like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.
