| 2009…Another Year For Crappy Reunions Posted: 12 Feb 2009 05:22 AM PST When everything else you try fails and you don’t want to get a real job…just reunite with your defunct band. It’s sure to be a hit no matter what myself or anyone else says. No matter how much hate you see on the internet, it’s your best bet. There are still fans out there that will kiss the ground you walk on and groupies that will do perverse things to roadies to get back stage at your shows. I’m just going to run down a few that I can think of off of the top of my head. In 2007 we saw Led Zeppelin reunite for a one-off show. While it wasn’t a full scale world tour, it was a chance for a lot of people that were born after Zeppelin’s touring era to see them perform live. I wish I could have been there but I didn’t want to blow my non-existent life savings. For the metal community 2007 was a great year too, as we saw Carcass reunite and then do a North American tour in 2008 and more dates for 2009. Let’s not forget The Black Sabbath Ronnie James Dio era band now calling themselves Heaven And Hell. They’ll be releasing a new album in April. These were great and well received reunions, but I could do without the rest. In 2008, 30 year old women were crying tears of joy on 20 year old Tiger Beat magazines when the New Kids On The Block dusted off their dance moves and got back on stage on in studio. Woooo! Now it’s 2009 and earlier this week we found out that Blink 182 has got back together. Remember when they said “Nobody likes you when you’re 23″? Yeah, nobody likes you when your 33 either. Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I last heard that plaguing the airwaves of radio stations everywhere. Lastly, early this morning we found out that the original line-up of Limp Bizkit has got back together for a reunion tour and a new album later on. I honestly didn’t think it could get any worse that NKOTB but I was wrong. I guess interscope Records is trying to rake in some cash this year. It’s still early in 2009 so we may see more crappy reunions, especially with the economy the way it is. Image: Newscom Tags: band reunion, blink 182, Limp Bizkit |
| Nikki Sixx Not Sore Over Grammy Loss Posted: 11 Feb 2009 11:06 AM PST
I don’t think any rock or metal artist writes a song with the thought, “Yeah, this is going to win us a Grammy.”. I think they just hope that it’s well received and sells records. The Grammy’s suck anyway. Lastly Nikki, there’s a reason why people like you and I don’t grow mustaches. Image: Newscom Quoted Text from Blabbermouth. | Posted: 11 Feb 2009 10:44 AM PST The charges against Saving Abel guitar tech Brandon J. Danger and Guitarist Jason Null have been dropped after the video they spoke of last time I reported this exonerated them. Of course there was still that issue I had with the girl being 17. It looks as if she lead them to believe that she was older than 17, but these days you have to be careful, I don’t care who you are. You have to be more responsible and check ID. I’m sure they’ll probably be more careful next time. The Oakland tribune reports:
So the girl’s story didn’t match what was on the video tape and lucky for them she was seen as suspect. It’s far too easy these days to get caught up in something like this these days and no one deserves to pay for a crime they didn’t commit. Bottom line…check ID!
