Claes Cleeve & Sasqutach (New americana influenced music from Sweden)

Claes Cleeve & Sasqutach are a new americana influenced group from Sweden. The band’s debut LP came out internationally on Feb. 4. Influences cited on the band’s MySpace page include Roy Orbison, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams, but I also hear a bit of The Waterboys and World Party in the bands swirling, often buoyant, large scale sound. This is not music that hides humbly in a corner waiting to be introduced at a party. No, it’s more like the life of the party.
