Michael Jackson Extends London O2 Residency Into 2010 | Proposed Setlist Leaks Posted: 12 Mar 2009 03:50 PM PDT As expected, Michael Jackson has extended his residency at the London O2 Arena, although the length of the commitment has taken me by surprise. Jacko initially announced a run of 10 shows but the number is now 37 and likely to grow even more. The dates will be broken into two halves, the first happening between July 8 and September 29. The second will then take place between January 7 and February 18. Whether any more London dates will be added is not yet known. Meanwhile, the setlist for the upcoming shows has supposedly been leaked although the British tabloids could be just making it up based on what are Jackson’s biggest hits. The proposed setlist is reportedly:- ‘Billie Jean’ ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” ‘Rock With You’ ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’ ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’ ‘Human Nature’ ‘Smooth Criminal’ ‘Girlfriend’ ‘Man In The Mirror’ ‘Beat It’ ‘One Day In Your Life’ ‘Heal The World’ ‘You Are Not Alone’ ‘Remember The Time’ ‘Thriller’ If based in fact, this would mean there’d be no Bad, Black Or White, or Earth Song. It also means the show will be limited to just 16 songs, which for the money being asked for the tickets is a little on the tight side. Tickets for the shows will be going on general sale tomorrow morning (March 13) at 7am GMT. That is if there are any actually left after the people sensible enough to register for the pre-sale had their share. I won’t be bothering to get a ticket because I firmly believe Michael Jackson has had his day and anyone going to see him now will be seeing a shadow of the superstar we once knew and loved. So why bother? Although, the tickets will probably go for an absolute fortune on eBay so if you’re up at 7am, do yourself a favor and buy one to sell on later. You can then use that money to go to 10 other gigs more worth your time and attention.
