Charm City Devils is Nikki Sixx’s record label’s latest Eleven-Seven Music acquisition. I’ve only heard the one track “Let’s Rock N Roll” (The Mp3 is available for free download below). It doesn’t have that modern feel to it. It has that feel that so many bands are trying to bring back. That Rock N’ Roll sound sound of yesterday, with the really catchy choruses like those of The Answer and Airbourne. They’ll probably make a good edition to the likes of a Crue Fest tour. Nikki Sixx had this to say about them in the press release:

"When I first heard Charm City Devils, my initial thought, along with everyone at Eleven Seven, was this is a real rock band! When I listen to their music I hear elements of credible bands like Aerosmith and I feel AC/DC. I like the fact that they're from Baltimore and the way they relate the working mans experience. They're not from New York or LA. You don't hear many bands from Baltimore and these guys carry on tradition with their own relevant and modern sound with classic riffs," said Sixx.

Their debut album Let’s Rock N Roll is set for a may 26th release on Eleven-Seven Music. "This album comes from an emotional level. The lyrics are very honest; they're pieces of my life, real things. Some are more sensitive and some deal with heavy issues, but they are balanced out by the fun, energetic songs that bring back some of that 1980s heyday of hard rock that audiences are longing for" says frontman John Allen.  "I truly believe that raw emotion and honesty transcend all trends, and that if music has that classic kind of sound, it will have longevity," he states. "That's our goal: to transcend the times and not compromise the integrity of what we do."

Download the free track and let me know what you think. If you dig them you can find them on tour. They’ll be touring regionally and with Motley Crue, Papa Roach and Buck Cherry.

War Of The (Guns N’) Roses

Posted: 03 Mar 2009 09:30 AM PST

mrpphotos160043-Axl-Rose Wow, there have been some pretty harsh words thrown around lately between Axl Rose and Slash’s Wife. Axl called Slash a “cancer”, claiming that Slash has lost his musical edge. “In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided – and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters the better.” he told Spinner.com.

In response to Axl’s comments, Slash’s wife, Perla Hudson published on her Myspace blog; “BTW have any of you seen that angry shit that Axl had to say about Slash? I just wish he was man enough to talk shit to Slash’s face! …LOSER!”

The fact that Axl said that about Slash kind of came as a surprise because Slash has had nothing but kind words about Axl and Chinese Democracy. You always have to wonder about these kinds of things though. There are always two sides to every story and there may be some things that go deeper in to their personal relationship.

At the moment I could care less if I ever hear or see a Guns N’ Roses “Alumni” reunion. As far as a war of words between members of G N’ R, it makes you wonder what really, truthfully happened. Is it so bad that they can’t make amends? Either way, it all seems kind of silly to me. Everyone should stop asking about a Guns N’ Roses reunion, already. If it happens it happens, if it doesn’t it doesn’t. Obviously Axl is happy doing what he is doing and a lot of people like Chinese Democracy for what it was. Will the “Real” Guns N’ Roses ever reunite and will we ever really know the true story? Who knows and who cares?
