Bon Jovi Tribute Band Threatened With Legal Action From Bon Jovi Posted: 05 Apr 2009 04:58 PM PDT Bravewords.com reports that the all-female Bon Jovi tribute band, Blonde Jovi has been threatened with legal action if they don’t change their name and/or logo. You can read a portion of the legal letter sent to Blonde Jovi by Bon Jovi’s legal team at Bravewords.com. Blonde Jovi have changed their name and wrote a blog entry explaining why. Due to threatened legal action by Jon Bon Jovi’s attorneys, we will no longer be using the name BLONDE JOVI. We are temporarily calling ourselves BLONDE JERSEY, until we come up with a new name. If you have any name suggestions, please email us! Nothing containing JOVI, or anything similar to JOVI may be used so BLONDE GIOVI, BLONDE JOE V, BLONDE JOVIE, are not options. Thanks for your support! “Blonde Jersey” is holding this name temporarily and is asking fans for suggestion. The legal letter states that the band appreciates that they are a tribute band but doesn’t want people to be confused between the two. Unless you’re drunk and cross-eyed I think you can tell the difference, especially when buying tickets. Bon Jovi tickets often cost well over a hundred dollars while this band plays smaller venues and probably doesn’t charge much more than 20 bucks a ticket. And then there is the obvious name and the fact that this tribute band has vaginas….oh, wait, so does the real Bon Jovi. It’s pretty sad that Bon Jovi is sinking this low. Way to go, Johnny boy.
