Idol Stalker - Watching American Idol

After learning that his American Idol rival, David Cook, had tragically lost his older brother, Adam, to cancer over the weekend, David Archuleta had some kind words to share.

"It really struck me when I heard about the news of Cook’s brother," Archuleta told Usmagazine.com. "I know they had been struggling with it for a while, so my heart really goes out to them. It’s so admirable the way he’s handling it though, and it’s amazing to see him there as an example for millions of other people who have also been affected the same way he and his family have."

"I’ll be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers, and hope the Cook family stays strong," he said.

Kara DioGuardi Chats with Jimmy Kimmel

Kara DioGuardi sat down with Jimmy Kimmel and the pair talked about a variety of things. She felt it was important to set the record straight about something she allegedly said in People's 50 Most Beautiful People section. She explains that she "shades" her nose, not "shaves" it before she goes out on the set of American Idol. Ha ha! Poor Kara!

She also talked about writing songs for different celebrities but Jimmy wanted to know the process of writing a song for someone like Paris Hilton. He asked "where do you start, an instrumental?" Fellow guest, Matthew McConaughey cracked up and so did I!

The whole interview was actually pretty entertaining (you've got to see the "commercial" Jimmy put together!). Check it out and leave me a comment about what you thought.

Paula Abdul’s New Single Coming Soon

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, is releasing another single called "I'm Just Here for the Music" later this month on which she collaborated with her "Forever Your Girl," "Opposite Attract" and "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me" producer, Oliver Leiber.

It was written by Danielle Brisebois and Wayne Rodrigues and was originally recorded by Kylie Minogue when she was prepping her Body Language album but she did not include it on the album.

The single is from Paula's upcoming album (due this fall) but will be available on Paula’s website in the next few weeks.

I'm really curious about what this album is going to sound like. It's been a while since Paula released a full album so who knows if she can be current enough to compete on today's charts. It's a big risk for her to take considering the fact that she's got to face the public from the judge's table but I guess she needs to take the chance. I can't blame her. I hope it all works out!

Ruben Studdard’s New “Together” Video

American Idol season 2 winner, Ruben Studdard, has released the video for his single "Together." I really like the song which is from his upcoming album Love IS (available on May 19, 2009). The video is pretty cute too.

Here's the tracklisting from the album which was produced by the dynamic duo, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I'm looking forward to hearing the full album because I think they, along with Ruben, could make a really great combination.
