Would Every Former Member Of Guns N’ Roses Please Shut The F*** Up Already!

I’m tired of saying it and I’m tired of hearing it. Axl Rose owns the name “Guns N’ Roses“. He can tour, and write under that name as long as he owns it. Everyone knows that I’m not an Axl sympathizer but Jesus Christ I’m tired of hearing former members bitch about him.

I said awhile back that Chinese Democracy doesn’t really sound like a Guns N Roses record. It just doesn’t, but the fact remains that he owns the name. What get’s me is the former members of G N’ R bitching about him touring under the name.

Matt Sorum told the Pulse Of Radio that:

he doesn’t think it’s cool for Axl Rose to take his current band on the road under the GUNS N’ ROSES name. “I’m not saying I’m an original member, okay, but I understand the core of the band, which is Slash and Duff and probably Izzy,” he said. “It’s a shame, and you know what, this goes back to a Paul McCartney thing. Does he call himself THE BEATLES? Not saying we were as big as THE BEATLES, but — does Sting call himself THE POLICE? No. Does Jimmy Page and Robert Plant go out there calling themselves LED ZEPPELIN? Nope.”

Matt? Buddy? Don’t you have bigger things to worry about, like finding a singer for your own band or maybe what your hair-dresser is doing to your head? Duff and Slash gave up every right they had to the name when they signed it over to Axl, whether they were drunk, high or indifferent. He’s not the first musician to own the rights to a bands name and write, record and tour using it.

If he had said something like he shouldn’t tour using that name because they don’t sound like Guns N Roses, then perhaps I wouldn’t care. Sorum has his own mostly-successful band. Technically as a “Core”, no, it’s not Guns N’ Roses. Legally, it is. And for my final question…

Who gives a shit?!? Seriously.
