Oasis Heading For Another Big Bust-Up Posted: 04 May 2009 02:15 PM PDT To say Oasis have had a troubled past would be akin to saying Adolf Hitler was a naughty boy - it’s an understatement of epic proportions. And it looks like another bust-up is on the way, with the Gallagher brothers seemingly at each other’s throats yet again. Oasis as they are today are very different to what they were years ago. There has been numerous line-up changes with the only original members of the band left being Liam and Noel. The rest have either been fired, got bored and moved on, or left after getting fed up of the rows. Bizarrely, the two brothers still in the group are the root cause of all the aggravation. Siblings often argue, but the Gallaghers have taken the art of rowing to a whole new level, and many a tour has been ruined by their bickering. The last couple of weeks have seen the situation flare up yet again. The band are currently on tour to support Dig Out Your Soul and the whole rigmarole of gigging night after night seems to be taking its toll on Liam and Noel. Noel seems to have started it all (at least the public side) by appearing to be setting himself up for a break from the band. He stated it would be five years before the next Oasis album was released, backing up earlier claims he was looking to release something as a solo artist. Liam has been regularly updating his Twitter page, with some tweets clearly showing there is tension developing between him and Noel. He said:
Now, Noel has updated the Oasis MySpace blog with a post clearly implying trouble is on the way. While he doesn’t detail who is involved or what the problem is, his wording doesn’t leave much to the imagination.
It seems as though Liam and Noel really just don’t get on anymore and pretty much only stay talking to maintain a professional relationship. But even that seems to be wearing them down, with Liam wanting Oasis to go from strength to strength and Noel wanting a break from the band. Oasis are unlikely to end the tour early but once it comes to a close then I hate to think what’s going to happen. Could this be the end of Oasis as we know them? Would the band survive without Noel? Or Liam? Only time will tell.
