Oasis In Trouble? – Gallaghers Continue To Fight Each Other Posted: 21 Aug 2009 12:05 PM PDT Last year the British music scene (and consequently Brit Music Scene) was dominated by Amy Winehouse. Whether it was her and Blake fighting, her out on the town, her in hospital, or her winning awards, she was the main topic of conversation in the media. This year has seen someone else taking the limelight – step forward Liam and Noel Gallagher. The Gallagher brothers, the only two original members of Oasis left in the band, have always had a troubled relationship. Maybe they were fine as teenage brothers but the stress of touring together, recording together, and being in one of the world’s biggest rock bands certainly took its toll on the pair of them and how they interact with each other. Already this year has seen Oasis banned from China, Noel and Liam having a bust-up, technical difficulties costing the band millions of dollars, Liam losing it during a gig, and Noel threatening to put the band on hold to concentrate on a solo album.
On that last point, Liam has now told NME what he thinks of the idea. Suffice to say he’d rather it didn’t happen but he knows there is little he can do about it. He said:
Meanwhile, MSN reports how Liam explains his new habit of criticizing Noel on the Internet, normally via Twitter. He explained:
It’s clearly a good thing that the two are staying out of each other’s hair, but how long can band in-fighting of this magnitude go on for before one of the two brothers cracks? Not long in my opinion. Which is why Oasis taking a break, in which time Noel goes off and releases a solo album, would probably be the best thing that could happen. It may mean we don’t get a new Oasis album for a few years but I’d rather that than the band split and we never get another Oasis album. [Photo Source: Newscom] Post from: Brit Music Scene |
