Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel Update
Mariah is putting the finishing touches on her newest album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, and we have shifted all of our TV and promo appearances to coincide with the new release date of September 29th. We can’t wait for the fans to hear the new album !!

It was supposed to come out on August 25, 2009 and I have to admit that I'm disappointed.  Sure, I wasn't the biggest fan of her newest single "Obsessed" but I was looking forward to hearing what else the album has to offer.

It's so close to the planned release date to be making an announcement like this so I hope that all is well in Mimi-town.  I am sure she was a bit rattled by Eminem's reaction (or should I say "warning") to her latest music video but she's got hubby, Nick Cannon, to defend her honor.  Oh well, I could speculate all day so I'm just going to stop and do the only thing that I can do – wait.

Flashback Friday: Crystal Waters “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)”

Posted: 14 Aug 2009 10:48 AM PDT

I can remember when I first heard "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)."  I was in junior high (the song was released in April 1991 and was the most memorable track from Crystal Waters' Surprise album) and I loved gypsy woman it instantly.

As a song, it's really simple.  The chords are repetitive, the use of instruments is minimal – which was uncommon for the time – and the lyrics were meaningful but basic.  It really is one of those great examples of early dance music.

The song actually earned Waters three nominations at the 1991 American Music Awards (Favorite Artist – Dance, Favorite Single – Dance and Favorite New Artist – Dance).  She may not have taken home any of those awards but she did win the "Top-Selling Hot Dance Music Club Play Single" prize at the 1994 Billboard Music Awards for her other hit "100% Pure Love."

Enjoy your weekend and check out today's Flashback Friday selection – "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)"
