| Elly Jackson Talks La Roux’s Lesbian Fans – She Isn’t BTW Posted: 29 Sep 2009 06:06 PM PDT Although sexuality shouldn’t be a big deal in these enlightened times, when it’s right there in front of your face, exhibited quite spectacularly, then it’s obviously going to draw attention. And if you’re La Roux’s Elly Jackson that means having lesbian fans throwing their bras at you on stage and then standing there topless hoping you’ll notice them. Nice work if you can get it. ![]() There has been a lot of speculation as to whether Jackson, La Roux’s singer and the one of the duo who isn’t afraid to show their face, is gay. If you have seen her either in one of La Roux’s music videos or in photos then it’s easy to see why. No one should be judged on looks but her alternative and slightly butch look does beg the question.
However, Jackson isn’t gay but knew all along her look would attract a lesbian fan base to La Roux. According to Digital Spy she told Heat magazine:
Spot on. Jackson’s basically saying anyone can come to a La Roux gig but she’d rather they came because they like the music rather than just to try and get her to notice them. And the fact she isn’t actually gay would mean there’s more chance of her noticing a guy in the crowd, especially I suppose if he whipped off a bra and stood with with man boobs on display for the duration. I might have to try that one. [Photo Source: Amazon.co.uk] Post from: Brit Music Scene |
| Coxon: Blur Have No Further Plans Posted: 29 Sep 2009 11:01 AM PDT The Blur reunion lead to much celebrating by fans of the original Britpop band yet it all seems to have come to a rather abrupt end. After playing several gigs, including a much-vaunted headlining set at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival, the four members of Blur have now each gone their own separate ways again. What on earth is going on? ![]() Damon Albarn suggested it was over again when he said, "This is our last gig," after playing the opening song of the Glasto set. Then Alex James made it clear that as much as they all enjoyed coming back together to play live again, there were no plans in place for anything further. And now Graham Coxon has backed up that claim by insisting Blur have no further plans at this moment in time.
According to NME, Coxon said:
Coxon is back doing his solo thing already, with a short tour in November which will see him perform with special guests under the moniker, The Graham Coxon Power Acoustic Ensemble. Albarn probably has his fingers in lots of different pies as usual, and James and Rowntree have fallen off the radar. I think Blur have a lot more to give, both live and on record. So I’d truly love to see them back in the studio working on new material and preparing for a full tour. But at this point in time that doesn’t look likely. Unfortunately.
