September 21st, 1959, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" entered the top 40 of "Billboard's Hot 100." The song even reached the #13.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir won a Grammy for "Best Performance by a Vocal Group or Chorus" for "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".
