| Paramore Covers Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” Posted: 06 Sep 2009 11:03 PM PDT Looks like lots of people are in the mood to cover other artist's songs (I wrote about Britney Spears singing an Alanis Morrisette song yesterday). I spotted this video of Paramore on BBC Radio 1 putting their own styling on the Kings of Leon's megahit "Use Somebody" and I think that it's pretty good, especially when you consider the fact that it's acoustic. I think that I like a female voice better on this song. Hayley does a great job and I recently heard a version by Brooke White (former American Idol finalist) on her debut album, High Hopes and Heartbreak. I'd love to hear what you think of this cover and I'd like to also know what you think of artists singing the songs of others. Post from: She Plays Music |
| Britney Spears “You Oughta Know” Cover Posted: 06 Sep 2009 08:47 PM PDT It seems as though Britney Spears has started covering the Alanis Morrisette hit "You Oughta Know" on her Circus tour. I saw this video of her doing it at a show in Greensboro, NC over the weekend and I think she starts it and ends it relatively well but the middle was a little strange. Here's the thing – I'm happy to see her singing live at all. She lip syncs her own songs on the tour (and obviously couldn't get away with that with someone else's song) so I'm glad her audience is getting some form of live vocals. Check it out and tell me what you think! Post from: She Plays Music |
