Flashback Friday: “I Can’t Make You Love Me” Posted: 01 Oct 2009 11:55 PM PDT Bonnie Raitt released "I Can't Make You Love Me" back in 1991 and so many people, women and men alike, immediately connected to it because the lyrics are so raw and honest. The track was from her Luck of the Draw album and is considered one of the greatest songs ever written. The song has been performed by about a million times on shows like American Idol and was the song that winner, Carrie Underwood, chose for her audition. I was pretty young when I first heard the song and had been on just a handful of dates but I instantly felt the emotion the lyrics conveyed and, unfortunately, after some heartbreak, I came to understand the trueness of them. It's a beautiful song. Have a listen and enjoy your Friday!
