| Nestunes - Swedish Nintendo music cover band…yep! Posted: 08 Oct 2009 06:50 AM PDT
I’ve written about my fair share of c64 style bliptunes and I like the genre but usually it’s propagated by solo artists with a laptop. So I was pleasantly surprised (and a little creeped out) when I came across the Swedish band Nestunes. They play actual instruments, create arrangements, perform live in costumes, and are generally a bunch of wacky swedes. But they are pretty serious about their music, which is a blend of prog rock and 8bit with a little loungy jazz thrown in. Here are a couple songs from an upcoming album.
